Alan Kent Wesner, 65, Greenfield, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026. Alan was born on November 11, 1960, in Greenfield, to parents Ralph Allen and Kathryn Janice (Gibson) Wesner. Alan is a 1979 graduate of Greenfield Central High School. He married the love of his life, Glenna Sue Melton, on April 4, 1987.
Alan’s greatest roles came from being a husband, a dad, and then a grandfather. He and Glenna welcomed three daughters into their home. All of the girls remember their dad being present throughout their lives, always attending their choir concerts and school plays, and not one of them could ever turn down a dumb dad joke. When the ladies had children of their own, the grandchildren had Alan wrapped around their little fingers. Alan could always be found attending their band concerts, soccer tournaments, football and baseball games, and wrestling matches. Alan loved the outdoors to the fullest. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hiking. He and the family attended the Indianapolis 500 on many occasions. Music was always playing around the house, from rock-n-roll to jazz. He also loved to read. Alan was currently employed with Hitachi Astemo Indiana for well over 30 years as a dedicated die castor.
Alan is survived by his loving wife Glenna of 39 years; their daughters: Amber Melton, Ashley (Matthew) Wesner, and Andrea Wesner; 5 awesome grandchildren: Jaidn McDonald, Amiah Melton, William Glesing, Maysn Glesing, and Jameson Wesner; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings: Bob Wesner, Kathy Meldin, and Debby Colwell.
Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Greenfield, is of assistance to the Wesner family during their loss of Alan. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later time.
