Alberta C. Carrico January 6, 1924 - April 29, 2014
Alberta C. Carrico, of Indianapolis and Holy Name Catholic Church, arrived at her eternal resting place the morning of April 29, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 6, 1924 and graduated from Sacred Heart High School. During WWII, she worked at Allison Industries, Eli Lilly and Company, and Murphys Department Store. Later in life she worked at Roselyn Bakery. Her entire life was devoted to her large family and charitable activities. Alberta was preceded in death by her husband, Martin F. Carrico and siblings: Frank, Leo, Bill, and Josephine Baumann. She is survived by her daughters: Roberta Smithey Epperson (Mike), Mary Hillen (David), Christina Tooley (James), and Margaret ("Peg") Carrico and by her sons: William (Ann), Harold (Kathey), and Matthew (Nancy) Carrico. She is further survived by 20 grandchildren and 20 great children. Friends may call 4:00-8:00 pm Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Shirley Brothers Funeral Home, 3333 East Thompson Road, Indianapolis. A Rosary service will be held at 7:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 am Friday, May 2, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1530 Union Street, Indianapolis. Father Bob Sims will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Josephs Cemetery, 2446 South Meridian Street, Indianapolis. Memorial Contributions in Albertas honor may be made to St. Elizabeth Coleman Pregnancy and Adoption Services, 2500 Churchman Ave., Indianapolis, Indiana 46203. Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Greenfield has been entrusted with arrangements.
