Alice "Jan" McClain July 15, 1954 - March 12, 2009 Alice "Jan" McClain, 54, a resident of Greenfield, formerly of Flint, Michigan, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2009 at her home. She was born July 15, 1954 in Flint Michigan to the late Charley Edward and Mary Ellen (Speaks) Simpson. She was employed for the past 5 years as a custodian with Greenfield Central School System and worked at the Fenton Community Center in Fenton, Michigan for 17 years. She was an avid bingo player, loved garage sales and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by son, Chad (Kari) Ross of Singapore; daughter, Amanda (Chad) Ankney of Greenfield; brother, Jesse Dale (Bonnie) Simpson of Grand Blanc, MI; sisters, Lou Ellen (Jim) Grotts of Dallas, TX, Charsie Moore of Greenfield and Aline (Don) Barnes of Hale, MI; six grandchildren, Hailey Ann and Anthony Ray Ross, Tegan Danielle, Alaina Paige, Chase Allen and Connor James Ankney; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, one great-great niece and one great-great nephew. She was preceded in death by two brothers, J.D. and James Edward Simpson. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2009 at Bethel Baptist Church, Greenfield with Pastor Randall Parker officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Crestwood Cemetery, Grand Blanc, Michigan. Calling will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society or Four Seasons Hospice.
