Allen Scott Merrell June 24, 1943 - March 19, 2007
Allen Scott Merrell, 63, of Indianapolis, passed away Monday, March 19, 2007 at Community Hospital East. Allen was born June 24, 1943 in Arkansas to Leroy and Callie (Beavers) Merrell. He graduated from Morristown High School and attended IUPUI, later serving in the US Navy as a sonar man. Allen was a member of the Morristown United Methodist Church and, retiring from self employment in sheet metal, also of the Local Union 20 Sheet Metal Workers of Indianapolis.
He is survived by his son, Gregory Merrell of Indianapolis; daughters, Jennifer (Doug) Stephenson of Indianapolis, Natalie (Jerry) Bean of Greenfield, and Melissa Merrell of Indianapolis; brother, Richard (April) Merrell of Hebron, IL; sisters, Laverne (Bert) Reinertsen of Fountaintown, Virginia Anderson of Morristown, and Gayle (Jesse) Pieper of New Palestine; grandchildren, Jerry Bean III, Mitchel Snyder, Madelyn Merrell, Gloria Merrell and Evelyn Stephenson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Wilma Davis.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 23, 2007 at 1:00 pm at Pasco-Stillinger Funeral Home with Reverend Susan Davis officiating. Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 pm Thursday, March 22, 2007 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery, Morristown. Memorial contributions may be made to the donors favorite charity.

Comments Scott's acts of kindnesses never escaped me. When Scott loved somebody, he loved everyone connected to that person. He then took responsibility for all of these people " that he now loves. He never shied away from trying to help someone that he loved. And never expected anything in return. I'll truly miss him.
