Alvin Thomas "Tom" Schoonover

Alvin Thomas "Tom" Schoonover, age 77 of Greenfield passed away, December 12, 2023, in Indianapolis. He was born July 10, 1946, in Brookville, Indiana to the late Alvin and Lucille (Quigley) Schoonover. Tom served in U.S. Army during the Vietnam era.

Prior to his retirement, Tom was the maintenance director for Randall Textron. After retiring he spent many years helping in the J.L. Wesley mechanics shop where he enjoyed spending time with the employees. Tom was a member of the American Legion Post 119, and the New Palestine Masonic Lodge 404.

Tom was a hard worker, he knew everything about everything, especially automobiles. He enjoyed black and white war movies, fishing, and fixing things. When he wasn't busy, he loved spending time at home.

He is survived by his wife Carol (Jordan) Schoonover, children; Renee (Shannon) Parker, Aaron (Jen) Schoonover, Benjamin (Danielle) Schoonover, grandchildren; Samantha, J.T., Alexis, Ayden, Kade, and Gavin; and sister; Retha Schoonover.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers; Gary, Walter, Raymond, and Robert Schoonover.

Friends may call from 10:00 am until 11:45 am, Monday, December 18, 2023, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140. There will be a Masonic Service at 11:45 with the funeral to follow at 12:00 noon with David Woods officiating.
