Anita R. Callahan

Anita Ruth Callahan, age 88 passed away Friday, January 26, 2018 at Castleton Healthcare Center, Indianapolis. She was born May 30, 1929 in Greenfield to the late Edgar and Margaret (Frazier) Wilson. Anita was a 1948 graduate of Charlottesville High School and a member of Charlottesville United Methodist Church. She was an avid supporter of 4-H as well as Eastern Hancock Band and Athletics. She loved reading, shopping, playing cards with her family and was a wonderful cook. Anita was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world. She had a unique sense of humor and quick tongue that served her well into her final days. She is survived by her children; Jay (Denise) Callahan of Morristown, Dawn (Gary) Vaught of Fishers, Jill Smith of Fortville, Joy (Daniel) Shea of Tyler, TX., 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 45 years, James D. Callahan in 1995, siblings; Leroy Wilson, Ralph Wilson, June Addison, grandson; Gabriel Vaught and great grandson; Andrew Hall. Friends may call 4 8 pm, Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main St., Greenfield, IN 46140. Funeral 10:00 am, Wednesday, January 31 with burial immediately following at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
