Anita Jo (Owens) Van Alst, age 60 of Indianapolis, IN passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 11, 1956 in Anderson, IN to Russell Owens & Shirley (Kirk) Johnson. Surviving Anita is her husband, Brian D. Van Alst; son, James Christopher Hughes; daughter, Aimee Jo Beckstrom; brother, Ralph Owens; sister, Lorei Sloan, 10 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Preceding Anita in death is her father listed above; and brother, Russell Owens; No services will be held at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stillinger Family Funeral Home.
