Asenath A. Taylor July 1, 1925 - September 10, 2012 Asenath Alice (Cooney), Taylor, 87 of Grinnell, Iowa formally from Greenfield. Her earthly life ended on Monday September 10, 2012 in Grinnell, Iowa. She was born on July 1, 1925 in Greenfield the daughter of the late Edwin L .and Nellie (Scott) Cooney. Asenath better known as "Senie" by her friends was always active in church having grown up in the United Brethren in Christ Church and later baptized by the Rev. Cyrus Herod in the Greenfield Christian Church. She most recently joined the First Baptist Church in Grinnell, IA Music was Senies theme of her life - She sang in numerous choirs, in a ladies quartet, the Quakerettes, for eight years and a ladies trio, the Lords Chords. She served as director of several choirs. For many years she traveled and gave vocal concerts and led hymn-fests in campgrounds. She was active in the Order of Eastern Star. She was Past Matron of Miriam Chapter, OES and was Past Deputy of District Six of the Indiana Grand Chapter. At the time of her passing she was a member of Anderson Chapter# 154. Asenath graduated from Greenfield High School with the class of 1943, she retired from the Greenfield Banking Company after 23 years of service. She was married to J. Douglas Horine for 32 years when "Doug" preceded her in death. From this union three children were born, all whom survive her; K. Denise (Horine) Rohrig and husband, Dennis, Mark A. Horine and wife, Angela and Joseph R. Horine. Also surviving her are two stepchildren by this marriage, Delbert N. Horine and Joy (Horine) Boldry. She and Milton E. Glascock were married for 20 years before Milton preceded her in death. From this marriage three stepdaughters survive her; Deborah (Glascock) Tondre and husband C.A., Kimberly (Glascock) Staudt and husband, Michael and Jennifer (Glascock) Remirez and husband, Paul. Asenath and Harry Taylor were married in 2002. They spent their summers in Grinnell, Iowa and their winters in Edinburgh, Texas. She is survived by her husband, Harry Taylor, 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandson, brother Dr. Jerald T.
