Augustus Mosley, 77, Greenfield, passed away into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, with family by his side, on Thursday, March 20, 2025. Gus was born on November 21, 1947, in London, KY, to Loyd and Virgie (Napier) Mosley. He is a 1967 graduate of Lilly High School, London, KY. He and his brother, Chet, furthered their education at Somerset Vocational School, studying diesel mechanics.
Gus was a family man, dedicated to seeing his children excel and his grandchildren spoiled. He was friendly to everyone, never having a bad word for anyone or anything. He was an avid flower and vegetable gardener. He reaped the rewards by canning most of those vegetables. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, hunting, and grilling. He worshipped at Cumberland Christian Church beginning in 1985 and was a deacon for at least 10 of those years. He was a hard worker. His children do not recall him missing any days of work, as he worked 48 years as a diesel mechanic with Clark Detroit Diesel, in Indianapolis. Gus retired in 2018. He was also very patriotic.
Gus is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Jane (Hedrick) Mosley, whom he married on September 1, 1984; sons, Craig (Heather) Mosley and Scott Mosley; affectionately known as PoPo to his 5 grandchildren: Beatrice Mosley, Tyler Mosley, Chey Long, Noah Mosley, and Hunter Mosley; brother, Chet (Carol) Mosley; and beloved cat, Ms. Kitty.
