Barbara Curtis

Barbara A. (Gilbert) Curtis, 58, passed away Monday, July 28, 2025 at Ascension St. Vincent's Hospital, Indianapolis. She was born in Anderson, Indiana on July 3, 1967 to the late John and Margaret (Caldwell) Gilbert.

Barbara worked as a chef for thirteen years. She spent a portion of those thirteen years at Ollie's and another at The Crossing. Barbara loved fishing, spending time at the casino, golfing, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was known for her love of candy corn. Every year she would look forward to the fated candy corn season.

She is survived by her two children April Whyde, David Curtis; grandchildren, Tonya, Kyra, Landon, Colton, Hunter; siblings, Debora (Ray) Davis, John Gilbert Jr., Charlene (Jason) Rett, Raymond Gilbert; step mother, Patty Gilbert; two aunts, two nieces, six nephews and many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, listed above; her brother Dwain Gilbert; niece, Cherish Bland; and her grandparents.

There will be no services held at this time. Stillinger Family Funeral Home is honored to serve Barbara and her family.
