Bert Leo Potter was born on December 22, 1937, to Everett Potter and Sarah Stanley Potter in Payne Gap, Kentucky. He passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was a resident of Greenfield, Indiana, and will be laid to rest at Riley Bentley Cemetery in Deane, Kentucky. We were blessed to have him with us for 88 years and 9 months.

He served in the Marine Corps for three years. He loved the Lord and listened to Les Feldick every night for over 30 years. He was a master craftsman who loved working with his hands and could accomplish just about anything he put his mind to. He will always be deeply loved and remembered by everyone who knew him.

He was married to Regina Sergent Potter for over 46 years, but he had three children from a previous marriage, Michelle Sirosky of Greenfield and Sherry Bell of Maryland. In addition, he had seven grandchildren, Jesse, Jake, Jared, Kelly, Jennifer, Alexis, and Anthony; and eleven great-grandchildren, Avaree, Bella, Evan, Quin, Mia, Aiden, Carson, Rylan, Zaiden, Zayleigh, and Zain; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was blessed to have so many precious friends whom he considered family. “Uncle Bert” was especially loved by Kelly, Carl, Katie, Dustin, Becky, and Quinton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Potter of West Virginia; grandchildren, Bruce and Logan; brother, Ronald; and sisters, Phyllis Jeanette Potter and Mary Ann Young.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 W. Main Street, Greenfield, IN 46140. Burial will follow at Riley Bentley Cemetery in Deane, Kentucky on Saturday, September 12, 2026.

The family has requested any flowers to be purchased through Hall and Jones Funeral Home, 22 Elkhorn Ave, Jenkins, KY.
