Bettie Jean Pope November 10, 1938 - May 8, 2012 Bettie Jean Pope age 73, a resident of Laurel, Indiana passed away Tuesday May 8, 2012 at Heritage House of Connersville. She was born November 10, 1938 to the late Kenneth Robert and Elizabeth Ellen (Rockwell) Lee. She was a Homemaker and member of the Morristown Eastern Star Chapter 316. She made ceramics, bowled, canned and loved to cook Sunday dinners for her family. She is survived by her husband, Porter Pope, daughters, Jeannie (Donald) Moore of Rushville, Peggy (Michael) Ruby of Rushville, Robin D. (Tony) Garrett of Apex, NC., Carla Lee Meece of Rushville, Tina Kathleen Meece of Shelbyville, step-son, Alan (Johnna) Higgins of Cumberland, brothers Richard Lee of Tenn., Philip Steven Lee of Anchorage, Ak., sister, Emily Joan (Mack) Hunter of Indianapolis,brother, James Hackleman of Texas,14 grandchildren and 17 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, baby girl, Rose Pope and brother, Robert Hackleman. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday May 12, 2012 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield. Burial will be at a later date. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
