Betty Ann (Thurston) Berry, 95, of Greenfield, Indiana passed away on December 24, 2023 at Franciscan Hospice House. She was born in Alexandria, Indiana on May 6, 1928, the daughter of Samuel Thurston and Hazel (Gale) Thurston.


Betty graduated from Alexandria Monroe High School, Class of 1946. On October 19, 1952, she married William M. Berry, Jr. in Alexandria, Indiana. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She worked at First Savings and Loans, Anderson, IN and then Eli Lilly & Co., Indianapolis, IN.


Betty enjoyed various activities. She won numerous bowling awards over the years. She loved traveling, boating, camping, and family activities. Betty found a special joy in watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports.


Betty is survived by her daughter, Penny (Chet) Ellis of Greenfield, IN and her son, Bill (April) Berry of Greenwood, IN; six grandchildren, Tiffany (David) Wilson, Chet III (Jessica) Ellis, Bily (Kally) Berry, Kevin Berry, Dean Berry and Jenna Berry; great-grandchildren; Ethan and Allie Wilson, CJ, Kenzie and Piper Ellis, William and Charles Berry.


She was preceded by her parents, Sam and Hazel Thurston, Husband, William M. Berry, Jr. her brother and sister-in-law, Paul (Virginia) Thurston and her sister Velma (Leroy) Waymire.


Service will be a private graveside family service.
