Betty A. Bowman

Betty Ann Bowman, 87, of New Palestine, Indiana, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2026, at Aperion Care of Greenfield, surrounded by her family. She was born October 29, 1938, in Spirit River, Alberta, Canada, to Archie and Edna (Luhtala) McMillan.

Betty worked as a Computer Operator for Meridian Insurance for twenty-seven years until her retirement in 2003. After her retirement, she went on to work at Fazoli’s as well as McDonald’s. She attended First Church of the Nazarene in Indianapolis, Indiana. In her leisure time, Betty was an avid bowler but loved spending time with her family more than anything.

Betty is survived by her four children, Betty (Daniel) Brown, Terri (Stephen) Uppfalt, Gary (Mary) Bowman, and Darren (Marlene) Bowman; seventeen grandchildren and forty-four great-grandchildren with one on the way; as well as her three siblings, Archie McMillan, Yvonne Keiver, and Marty McMillan.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Keith Bowman, whom she shared forty-nine years of marriage; two grandchildren, Brandon and Jessica Bowman; and her three siblings, Orville and Carl McMillan and Anita Starling.
