Betty J. Hawkins September 24, 1924 - December 9, 2008 Betty J. Hawkins, 84, a resident of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born September 9, 1924 in Greenfield and was the daughter of the late John W. and Orpha F. (Roland) Grose. Betty worked for Straffords Drug Store for several years. She enjoyed babysitting and being a homemaker. She enjoyed playing Bingo, walking, spending time with her cat, and being a mother. She is survived by daughter, Beverly Parsons of Shelbyville; brother, Melvin E. Grose of Florida; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Hawkins; sisters, Louise Reed and Anna Breece; brother, Junior Grose. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 15, 2008 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 W. Main Street Greenfield, IN 46140. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Greenfield. Friends may call Sunday, December 14, 2008 from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Alzheimers Association, 225 N.
