Betty Jean Jordan November 11, 1935 - February 7, 2014
Betty Jean Jordan, 78, of Greenfield passed away Friday, February 07, 2014 in Greenfield. She was born in Evansville, IN. on November 11, 1935. Betty was the daughter of Alvin C. and Opel M. (Daugherty) Jones. She graduated from Reitz High School in Evansville. She worked in Evansville and Indianapolis prior to moving to Greenfield in 1979. Betty retired from Greenfield Banking Company in 1997. She was a faithful member of Bradley United Methodist Church, the Methodist Women, Hancock Regional Hospital Foundation (Legacy Circle) and the Hancock County Community Foundation (Community Development Endowment). She enjoyed travel, reading and spending time with family and friends.
Betty is survived by her husband of 15 years, Dr. Charles E. Jordan; son, Brian (Jane) Gibbons, Greenwood, IN.; three step-children, David W. (Nancy) Jordan, Naperville, IL., Pamela J. Yoder of Dallas, TX., Jennifer J. (Kevin) Pickett, Carmel, IN.; eight step- grandchildren Molly Jordan, Naperville, IL, Charles W. Jordan, New York, NY., Madeline Jordan , Naperville, IL., Olivia Yoder, Bloomington, IN., Benton Yoder, Kennesaw, GA., Claire Pickett, West Lafayette, IN., Ethan Pickett, Carmel, IN., Andrew Pickett, Carmel, IN.; and nieces Kalah Farmer, Nancy Black, Lisa Sloan; and brother-in-law Clinton Kuhn.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, sister Lois Kuhn and former spouse James H. Abney.
Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Bradley United Methodist Church, 210 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140 with Pastor Wade Compton officiating. Friends may call Tuesday, February 11, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the church and again one hour prior to service on Wednesday. Burial will follow services at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
