Beverly Bill Ballard

Beverly "Bill" Ballard age 87 of Greenfield passed away Thursday, August 09, 2018 at home with his sons by his side. He was born November 9, 1930 in Irvine, KY to the late Henry E. and Ella (Sparks) Ballard. Bill proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean War. He married his wife Marilyn on September 18, 1956. Together they made their home in Greenfield where Bill attended Eden United Methodist Church and the Apostolic Pentecostal Church. He was a member of the American Legion Post #119 and the V.F.W. #2693. Bill retired in 1988 from the Chrysler Corporation after 35 years of dedicated service. After retirement he was an avid golfer and loved classic country music. Bill is survived by his sons; James E. (Angela) Ballard of Bloomington and William H. Ballard of Greenfield, granddaughters; Marilyn and Grace Ballard, siblings; Wayne Ballard, Lynette Shouse, Ida Smith, Ivan Ballard and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; Marilyn J. (Pilgrim) Ballard in 2003, several brothers and sisters. Friends may call 4-8 pm, Friday, August 17, 2018 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main St. Greenfield, IN 46140. Funeral service 10:00 am, Saturday, August 18 with burial and military rites provided by the Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard immediately following at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
