Billy Marlin Giddings

Billy Marlin Giddings, 80, Charlottesville, Indiana, passed away on January 30, 2025. He was born on May 14, 1944, the son of William and Martha Giddings. Billy was a 1962 graduate of Sandusky High School. On June 14, 1963, he married Billie Jean Denney in Port Huron, Michigan, and they had a daughter, Betsy, and a son, Bryan.

Billy started his career at MacAllister Machine Company in 1962 and was employed there for 59 years before retiring. He started as a steam cleaner on Caterpillar equipment and worked his way up to Operator/Trainer. Billy was a faithful member of Shiloh Christian Church and was blessed to gain lifelong friends. He was there to help anyone in need. Billy enjoyed bird and coon hunting, fishing, and horses. While working, he was on the work softball team.

Survivors include his wife, Billie; daughter, Betsy (John) Keeton; son, Bryan (Michelle) Giddings; grandchildren: Dusty (Brittany) Bassett, Cody (Bailey) Bassett, Danielle Bassett, Taylor (Evan) Matlock, Savannah Giddings, and Caleb Giddings; and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Nettie VanArsdall and Margaret Gosnell; and brother, David Giddings.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, IN. A second visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. The funeral service will start at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Fred Girdwood officiating. Burial will be in McCray Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital's for Children and/or Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen.
