Carol Laverne Cochran July 2, 1933 - September 15, 2010
Carol Laverne Cochran, 77, a resident of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Regency Place of Greenfield. She had been at Regency Place since July 2009 and had been a Greenfield resident for 54 years.
She was born July 2, 1933 in Phoenix, Arizona to the late James Garnet and Carol (Pearce) Gilliland.
Carol graduated from the John Herron School of Art, she proudly served her country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War as a Wave, worked for Aetna Casualty and Surety of Indianapolis, Greenfield Smart Shop and Dorthas Style Shop. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Carol will be rememberd for her love of life, her ability to make people laugh with her story telling and her sense of humor. She also had a lifetime love for animals.
She is survived by daughter-in-law, Carmen Cochran-Krissinger of Radcliff, KY; grandsons, Michael Duane Cochran of Vine Grove, KY, SSG Scott Duane (Tiffany) Cochran Serving his country in Ft. Lewis, WA, granddaughter, Leah Song Cochran of Louisville, KY; Step-grandson, Phillip Krissinger of Bangor, PA; four great grandchildren, Megan Leigh Cochran , Ricky Duane Cochran, and Cody Duane Cochran of Vine Grove, KY, Jacob Earl Cochran of Pt. Lewis, WA; Nephew Dr. Glenn ( Sallie) Cochran of Caldwell, TX; Nieces, Carolyn S. (David, PO1) Dextradeur of Kettering, OH, Kathleen (Royce) Oswald of Mercer, PA, Rebecca (William) West of South Williamsport, PA; Sister- In- Law, Lela R. Cochran of Mercer, PA, 9 great nieces and nephews 14 great great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Duane M. Cochran Sr., whom she married November 10, 1956; and son, Duane M.Cochran Jr.
