Carolyn Sue (Riley) Pryor, 85, lifelong resident of Greenfield, IN, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026, with family by her side. Sue was born alongside her twin brother, Anthony, on November 13, 1940, in Indianapolis, IN, to parents Harry C. and Norris Mae (Rinker) Riley. Sue is a 1960 graduate of Greenfield High School.
Sue was a social butterfly to the fullest. Just ask her twin brother when he graduated high school vs when she graduated high school. If you knew her, you knew she had zero enemies and everyone was a friend. She knew no stranger. Her jokes were memorable, sometimes bordering the not-so-nice sector. She frequently visited the old Jim Dandy restaurant. She loved knitting, spoiling her granddaughter Anastasia, and could always be found with a word-find in her hands. She was a cancer survivor. She churched at Park Chapel. Her work career encompassed all forms of employment, but she really enjoyed working the Hancock County Democratic polls every year, working at the jewelry counter for Walmart, and being a jack-of-all-trades while working at Harvest Market. She made many great friends at all locations.
Sue is survived by her loving twin brother, Anthony ‘Tony’ (Judy) Riley; children: Marilyn (Steve) Durr, twins Cindy McKenzie and Cheryl Friend, Chris (Joe) Minnick, Amy Roberts, and Jada (Robert) Ford; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 nieces; and 1 nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents; father-of-her children, Sheldon Paul Sandvik; and husband, Robert Pryor.
