Carolyn J. Roland April 25, 1939 - May 4, 2010 Carolyn J. Roland, 71, a resident of Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at her home. She was born April 25, 1939 in Greenfield, Indiana and was the daughter of the late Virgil Lee and Izora (James) Roland. Carolyn was a 1958 graduate of Charlottesville High School, retired from Precision Machine Company, Indianapolis after 15 years of service and was a member of the One Way Christian Church in Beech Grove. She enjoyed bar tending as a part-time job. She is survived by brother, DeWayne (Karen) Roland of Greenfield; best friend of 26 years, Cheryl Cavendish of Indianapolis; 4 nephews, 2 nieces; several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, Alice and Mary. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, Greenfield with Pastor Walter Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Greenfield. Friends may call Friday, May 7, 2010 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be sent to the National Kidney Foundation, 911 E. 86th Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240. Comments I shared a lot with Carolyn on and off for various years.
