Carolyn Frances (Wysong) Cornett

Carolyn Frances (Wysong) Cornett, 85, Greenfield, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025. Carolyn was born on June 27, 1940, in Indianapolis, as an only child to Gahr Andrew and Dorothy Mae (Teague) Wysong. She attended Thomas Carr Howe High School in Indianapolis. On April 12, 1963, Carolyn married the love of her life, Donald Eugene Cornett.

Carolyn was a homemaker all her life. After she and Donald married, they started a family, welcoming a son and a daughter. Carolyn was able to nurture, teach, love, and guide her small family with ease. She was often anxious about other people's wellbeing, so she turned into a caretaker for many. She loved to work with ceramics, cook, paint, draw, complete crossword puzzles with confidence in ink, watch the daily soap operas, and bowl.

Carolyn is survived by her loving children, Brian (Arlene) Cornett and Shelly Wyrick and grandson, Jason Wyrick.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Donald of 60 years.

Visitation will be on Monday, July 14, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, with the service immediately following at 12:00 noon, officiated by her grandson, Jason. Burial will be in Lincoln Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Greenfield Hancock Animal Management.
