Cecil M. Peters December 10, 1913 - August 29, 2007
Cecil M. Peters, age 93, a resident of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, August, 29, 2007 at Morristown Manor.
She was born December 10, 1913 in Greenfield to the late Marion Alvin and Emma L. (Van Dyn) Chapman.
Cecil worked for the Hancock County Sheriffs Department for 27 years in the Administration Department; held the rank of Major and was the first female Deputy in Hancock County. She was a member of the Farm Bureau and Browns Chapel Wesleyan Church in Greenfield where she was an active Sunday school teacher.
She is survived by a son, Charles (Nancy) Peters of Greenfield; five grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; fifteen great-great grandchildren; many foster children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorin A. Peters, 2004; six sisters, Hazel Marsh, Helen Burk, Beluah Glascock, Mary Chapman, Mildred Crider, and Imogene Kirkpatrick; six brothers, Carl, Lowell, Marion, Oren, Loren Chapman, and Rev. Raymond Chapman.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Browns Chapel Wesleyan Church with Rev. Steve Bradley officiating. Burial will follow in Park Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 4 until 8 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, Greenfield.
