Charles Armstrong

Charles M. Armstrong, age 90, of Greenfield passed away Friday, August 16, 2019 at Golden Living Center, Greenfield. He was born March 5, 1929 in Princeton, Indiana to the late Alex and Lola (Griffin) Armstrong. After serving in the Air Force from December 1, 1947 to October, 1, 1954, Charles had a long career with Allison Transmission prior to his retirement in 1988. He loved providing for his family and especially loved the Christmas holiday. Charles is survived by his son, Brian (Julie) Armstrong; daughter. Barbara (Steve) Howard; grandchildren, Stephanie Howard, Josh, John, Cheney and Abi Armstrong; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents mentioned above, wife, Waltraud (Sinning) Armstrong and son, Barry Armstrong. Friends may call 1 pm-3pm, Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 17280 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140. Funeral service at 3 pm at the funeral home. Burial with military rites provided by the Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard immediately following service at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
