Charles "Charlie" Cox, age 78 of Greenfield passed away Monday, June 17, 2019 at his home. He was born August 14, 1940 in Beech Grove, Indiana to the late Kenneth and Mary (Cornwell) Cox. Charlie was a 1958 graduate of Scecina High School. He married Barbara (Tate) Cox on November 8, 1958. Charlie was a career firefighter for the Indianapolis Fire Dept. until his retirement in 1987. He also worked for L.S. Ayres warehouse for more than 20 years. He was a true family man and always had his girls best interest at heart. He was a man of few words, but when he spoke, you listened. Charlie was a gentleman, loyal, a hard worker and earned the respect of all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Barbara Cox; daughters, Monica (Chris) Duncan, Barbie (Bob) Beatty, Terri (Mike) Branson; grandchildren, Christopher, Patrick and Andrew Duncan, Travis (Emalee), Corey (Miranda), Zachary and Halle Beatty, Wyatt, Nathaniel and Samantha Branson; and great grandchildren, Aaliyah, Jack, Julian and Emma Beatty. His parents proceed him in death. Friends may call 4-7 pm, Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140. Mass of Christian Burial, 10 am, Friday, June 21st at St. Michael Catholic Church, 519 Jefferson Blvd, Greenfield with Father Aaron Jenkins officiating.
