Charles E. "Chuck" Ford, age 85 of Greenfield passed away, Thursday, March 26, 2020 at his home with his loving family at his side. He was born July 14, 1934 in Bowling Green, Kentucky to the late Norman and Delma (Stagner) Leaman Ford. Chuck served his country in the U.S. Navy, graduating at the top of his class from the Hospital Corps School and received the National Defense Service Medal prior to discharging in December 1954. He married Thelma (Eggeman) Little-Ford on December 23, 1971. He was a machinist and farmer prior to his retirement in 2004. Many will remember Chuck as a long-time bus driver for Eastern Hancock School Corporation. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, bass fishing, camping, bee keeping and gardening. Above all Chuck was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Ford; son, Robert Ford; daughters, Christine (Ed) Demaree, Laura Ann (Rick) Beckley and Becky (Brandon) Hayes; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; cousins, Linda (Dick) Baumer, John (Sheila) Ford; and special nephews, Danny (Marie) Ford and Mike (Kathy) Ford. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, L.B. Ford and Harold Ford; nephew, David Ford; and cousin, Jim (Hazel) Ford. Immediate services will be private; however, a Celebration of Chucks life will be held at a later date.
