Charles Hall June 24, 1927 - July 17, 2010
Charles Hall, 83, a resident of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Hancock Regional Hospital.
He was born June 24, 1927 in Whitesburg, Kentucky to the late George and Lorena (Horn) Hall.
Charles was a graduate of Westland High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corp. during WWII. He was a member of the Blue River Valley Power Association, Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, Teamsters 135, Greenfield American Legion Post 119 and the Indianapolis Lodge #669 F&AM. He was a farmer, semi truck driver and worked in his shop doing tractor repairs and restorations. He also loved flying his small planes he owned over the years.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Huffman Hall of Greenfield; son, John D. Hall of Greensboro, IN; step-son, David (Karen) Huffman of Greenfield; grandchildren, Carol (Eric) Belcher of Burkburnett, TX, Charles Robert (Stacey) Hall of Shelbyville, Kristina (Scott) Boffing of Indianapolis; step-granddaughter, Candi Dicken; great grandchildren, Matthew and Brittany Belcher, Charles Duane Hall, Katherine "Katie" Hall, Stephanie Maxfield, Jennifer Harvey, Michelle Maxfield, Morgan, BriAnna, Ivy, John Paul and Jordan Prine; step-great grandchildren, Jordan and Logan Dicken; brother, Alex (Gleeda) Hall of Sturgis, KY; sisters, June (Gene) Wicker of Greenfield, Mae (Howard) Austin of Sturgis, KY; very special nieces and nephews; best friends and canine companions L.J. and Pepper.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Constance C. (Montrose) Hall; sons, Charles Richard and Larry Hall; granddaughter, Sondra (Hall) Maxfield; brothers, Earl, Edgar, Elmer, George and William Hall; sisters, Edna, Lillian and Mabel.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, Greenfield with Rev. Charles Wanner and Rev. Hugh
Severance officiating. Entombment will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery with full military rites provided by the Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call Wednesday, July 21, 2010 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and also one hour prior to the funeral service. A Masonic service will begin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
