Charles C Newton

Charles C. Newton May 8, 1930 - May 15, 2013 Charles Clifton Newton, 83 of Greenfield passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at his home. He was born in Phoenix, AZ., May 8, 1930 to the late Jasper C. and Blanche (Hilton) Newton. Charles served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He later married Shirlee (Stevens) Newton on August 31, 1973 and was a lineman for GTE prior to his retirement. Charles was a member of Greenfield Church of Christ. Charles is survived by his wife Shirlee, sons; Steve (Cindy) Newton of Lafayette, David (Lona) Newton of Indianapolis and David (Carol) Hughes of New Palestine, daughter; Teresa (Ed) Major of Avon, brothers; Dennis Newton, Donnie Newton and Bob Newton all of Cambridge City, sister; Ramona Davison of Springfield, MO., eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother; Gary Newton. Friends may call Monday, May 20, 2013 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140 with funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm. Burial with full military rites following service at Greenhills Memory Garden , 3578 West SR 38, New Castle, IN.
