Charles Teddy Ramey, Sr.

Charles Teddy Ramey, Sr., 78, Fountaintown, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Charles was born on December 8, 1943, in Kingsport, Tennessee, to Robert and Lillian (Sexton) Ramey. Charles attended New Bethel High School in Franklin Township. He married his love Brenda Joyce Terry on November 13, 1964.

Charles was a mechanic for Ryder truck rental on Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, for 12 years. From there, he was self-employed as a mechanic. He then worked as a truck driver mechanic. In Charles' younger years, he enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, and hunting with his wife and boys. He also enjoyed classic cars and attending car shows, especially the James Dean Festival Run. Charles and Brenda were also long-time members of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife Brenda of 58 years; their children: Dwayne (Angela) Ramey, Charles T. (Ellen) Ramey, Jr., and Jeff (Paula) Ramey; 8 grandchildren: Chuck Ramey, Taylor Ramey, Jody Barton, Ashtyn Ramey, Kenzie Ramey, Jordan Henry, Megan Ramey, and Henry Napier; 8 great-grandchildren; and brothers: Don (Faye) Ramey and Dwight (Pat) Ramey.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kenneth R. Ramey; and brothers: Roy Ramey, Joe Ramey, and Bill Ramey.

Visitation will be on Monday, November 7, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home – New Palestine Chapel, 19 East Main Street, New Palestine. The funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. Charles will be laid to rest next to his son Kenneth in Orchard Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis.
