Christine Bernice Chaplin, 66, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024. Chrissy was born on March 28, 1957, in Indianapolis, IN, to Blanche E. (Butler) and George F. Chaplin III.
Born with epilepsy, Chrissy overcame the odds of thriving through not only a young age that her physicians did not believe she would surpass, but indeed, she did surpass the struggles with her enthusiasm, her kindness, her spirit, her child-like demeanor, her infectious smile and laughter, and so much more. She was tough-as-nails, pure, always happy, worry-free, and carefree. She had not one wrinkle and her skin was like silk. Her love for the small things made even strangers smile, such as constant clapping, grilled cheese sandwiches and Dt. Coke, McDonald's chicken nuggets and French fries, naptime, and Mr. Lawrence Welk. She loved dogs, stuffed animals, arts and crafts, playing Bingo, music, the color pink, the song "Amazing Grace", and family. With the new addition of a great-nephew to the family, she was enamored with his presence, telling all at the residence hall his name and being super-proud to show him off. Chrissy attended Fountaintown United Methodist Church. She worked at Shares, Inc. for many years and thoroughly enjoyed her time there.
Chrissy is survived by her loving mother, Blanche Chaplin; siblings: George F. (Vicky Lawson-Chaplin) Chaplin IV, Charles E. Chaplin, and Cassandra E. (Shannon) Bromagen; nieces and nephew: Erin D. Waltz, Brianna Baker, Bailey Bowman, and Nathan Bromagen; and great-nephew, Forrest Baker.
Chrissy was preceded in death by her father, George F. Chaplin III; brother, Victor Chaplin; and sister, Victoria Chaplin.
