Cynthia J. Erwin June 15, 1935 - December 15, 2007 Cynthia J. Erwin passed away, Saturday, December 15, 2007 at Morristown Manor. Mrs. Erwin was born June 15, 1935 in Kokomo Indiana to the late Warren and Frances (Jennings) Ballantine. Cynthia graduated as valedictorian of her class from Kokomo High School in 1953 and graduated from Indiana University in 1957 with her degree in Biology. She married Dr. Robert B. Erwin on August 31st, 1957. Mrs. Erwin was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma at Indiana University, Tri Kappa of Greenfield serving as President in 1982 and 83. She served as President of the Church Council at Saint James Lutheran Church and has owned Cynthias Hallmark since 1985. Mrs. Erwin is survived by her husband Robert, Son Cort (Pam Shelby) Erwin of Greenfield, daughters Stacey (Jay) Miller of Noblesville, IN., Sydney Caughron of Katy, TX. and Kelley (Tony) Holden of Greenfield, 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 3 step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Jerome Ballantine. A Memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2008 at Cross of Grace Lutheran Church 3519 South 600 West New Palestine, IN with calling from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. A celebration of life will be held immediately following the memorial service at Adaggios Banquet Hall and Conference Center 5999 Memory Lane Greenfield, IN 46140. In lieu of flowers the family of Mrs. Erwin kindly request memorial contributions to be made in her honor to; Alzheimers Association 9135 N. Meridian St., Ste B-4, Indianapolis, Indiana 46209, Edelweiss Equine Assisted Therapy Center, 5214 South State Rd. 9, Greenfield, IN 46140 or the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hancock County, PO Box 115, Greenfield, IN 46140. I believe that such is the case with Cynthia for she leaves behind a loving family and a legacy for our community in Cynthia's. You can be sure that she made a difference.
