Cynthia Ann (Smith) Lail

Cynthia Ann (Smith) Lail, 65, Greenfield, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at Hancock Regional Hospital. Cindy was born on July 19, 1959, in Evansville, IN, to James Eli and Emma Jean (Burns) Smith. Cindy attended Greenfield Central High School. She married William Lail in 1979.

Cindy was an incredibly kind and generous woman who loved animals, crafting, doing puzzles, and listening to her favorite musical groups Alabama and The Oak Ridge Boys. Cindy was a homemaker who lived in Cookson, OK, with her husband Bill for more than 20 years, where they enjoyed bass fishing and being in the great outdoors.

Cindy is survived by her mother, Emma Jean Montani; son, Scott (Franny) Gallagher; sisters, Anita Gilbert and Emma York; 3 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 9 nieces and nephews; and 2 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Cindy was preceded in death by her father, James Eli Smith and husband, William Lail, who passed in 2018.

Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Greenfield, is of assistance to the Lail family. There will be a Memorial Gathering at a later time for all.
