David L. Shipley

David L. Shipley age 75 of Indianapolis passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018 at I.U. Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born October 28, 1942 in Indianapolis to the late Charles and Maxine (Roberts) Shipley. David married Elaina (Kissel) Shipley on September 1, 1963. David was a career firefighter with Indianapolis Fire Department retiring from Station 34 as Captain on July 23, 1995. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, electronics repair and was a member of the Indianapolis Firefighters Union. He is survived by his wife Elaina, daughter Monique "Micki" (Tom) Simunek of Greenfield, grandsons; Dutch, Kaiser and Brady Simunek, brother; Dr. William (Donna) Shipley of Indianapolis and sister; Susan Fuller of Westfield. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Dr. C. Raymond Shipley, a long-time resident of California. A Memorial Visitation will be 10 am until Noon, Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140. A private family burial will follow.
