David Lee Stanley, Sr.

David Lee Stanley, Sr., 71, Greenfield, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at his residence with his loving family standing by his side. David was born on December 28, 1954, in Anderson, IN, to parents Don E. and Ula W. (Hendren) Stanley, Sr. David married the love of his life, Terri Lynn Miller, on December 19, 1977.

David’s greatest love was for his family. He enjoyed times spent with his wife and children. And when the grandchildren came around, watch out, because he spoiled them rotten. Second to family was his love for the outdoors in fishing, camping, and hunting. He also loved to listen to music and cruise around mowing the grass singing loudly enough for the neighbors to hear. When able, he could be found dancing. David worked in the construction field for many years.

David is survived by his loving wife, Terri of 48 years; their children: Kristina (Joshua) Gentry, David (Jacqueline) Stanley, Jr., Cecil (Emily) Stanley, and Troy Stanley; 16 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 7 siblings: Tony Stanley, Rachel Moore, Darcy Kirk, Donnetta Witt, Charlie Stanley, Kenneth Stanley, and Shanda Stanley; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dora Young.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield. The funeral service will be held the following morning, Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Greenfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made of the donor’s choice.
