Deborah A. Doty, age 70, of Greenfield passed away Sunday, December 22, 2019 at I.U. Simon Cancer Center, Indianapolis. She was born February 22, 1949 in Franklin, Indiana to the late Andrew and Birdie (Johnson) Cassidy. Deborah was a 1967 graduate of Columbus Senior High School. She married Dale Doty on February 22, 1970 and they moved to Greenfield to raise their family.
Deborah enjoyed a long administrative career serving as a receptionist for Mayor Keith McClarnon, the Indiana State House and most recently, 20 years at Dellen Automotive Group in Greenfield. She was an advocate and served on the board of directors for ICAP for many years. Deborah enjoyed shopping, cooking, local politics and serving as Hostess for the Riley Home. In her spare time Deborah loved to watch old movies and make jams and jellies for her family and friends. Above all, she enjoyed her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Dale Doty of Greenfield; children, John (Jenna Elders) Doty, Mary Beth (Saben) Western; her beloved dog, Newton; grandchildren, Andrew and Grace Doty; brother, Kenneth Cassidy; brothers-in-law, David (Monica) Doty and Doug (Rosemary) Doty.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Malinda Ross.
Friends may call 1-4 pm, Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140. Celebration of Life Service immediately following at 4 pm.
