Diane Kay (Briegal) Lemaire

Diane Kay (Briegal) Lemaire, 63, passed away peacefully around 2 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2025, while out for a walk—an activity she loved.

Born on March 17, 1961, in Marshall, Michigan, at Oaklawn Hospital, Diane was the beloved daughter of Maxine Tomlinson and Christian Briegal. She graduated from Marshall High School, leaving behind fond memories and lifelong friendships.

Diane met Marc Lemaire while working at Moonraker in Battle Creek, Michigan. From the moment she met him, she knew he was the one she would marry. Their journey together began soon after, moving in together in Ellwood, Michigan. They were married in a civil ceremony in mid-1990 and later celebrated their union with friends and family at a second ceremony at St. Joseph Church in Battle Creek that September.

Their life took them to Indiana, where they raised their children: Jennifer, Alexander, Zachary, and Benjamin. Though Diane and Marc divorced in 1998, life brought them back together years later. Their marriage had ended long ago, but her love and compassion for him endured—they spent precious time walking, talking, and sharing meals, making up for lost time.

Diane is survived by her children: John, Jennifer (married to Nicholas), Alexander (married to Ashlee), Zachary (married to Samantha), and Benjamin (married to Sarai); and her mother, Maxine Tomlinson.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you plant a tree in Diane's memory—a living tribute to her love of nature and the beauty she brought to those around her.
