Don H. Crawford

Don H. “Rosie” Crawford, 83, of New Palestine, passed away peacefully at home on February 14, 2026, following a long illness. As he had always wished, he spent his final moments in the comfort of his home, surrounded by the love of family, and entered into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Born in Lancaster, TN to Raymond C. and Jessie Mae (Malone) Crawford, Don built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work. On July 12, 2003, he married Virginia A. “Ginny” (Dorsett) Crawford, who survives.

Don dedicated more than 40 years of service to Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis. Beyond his career, he was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church, remaining active in his congregation until declining health made participation difficult.

A passionate sports enthusiast, Don faithfully supported New Palestine High School football and softball and was an enthusiastic fan of Indiana University basketball. He also found great joy outdoors—squirrel hunting, taking the occasional fishing trip, and especially tending to his garden. Known for his remarkable green thumb, Don could grow nearly anything and generously shared his harvest—particularly his prized tomatoes—with friends and neighbors. He was equally known for whipping up homemade pies and cobblers at a moment’s notice for someone in need of a sweet treat.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ginny; his sons, Mark (Debbie) Crawford and Brian Crawford; stepdaughter, Katie (Ron Taylor) Ferree; stepson, Joe (Lisa Krause) Sullivan; grandchildren Tonia Maynard, Matthew (Samantha Doty) Crawford, Kacie (Lucas Lester) Ferree, Macklin Sullivan, and Aaron Sullivan; great-granddaughter Ezra Urban; and several nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Virginia, Helen, Opal, and an infant sister.

In recent months, Don’s family was blessed by the compassion and care of many medical professionals. They extend special thanks to Colleen of Suburban Hospice for her kindness and support.

Visitation will be on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield IN, with the service following at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Roger Kinion.
