Donald R. Koonce June 30, 1927 - March 18, 2010
Donald R. Koonce age 82 years, a resident of Greenfield, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Golden Living Center, Brandywine of Greenfield.
He was born June 30, 1927 in Halls, Tennessee to the late Tweedie and Roxie (Reed) Koonce.
He was a World War II Veteran serving in the United States Navy. He retired in 1990 after 29 years of service from Roll Coater as Vice President of Purchasing and Traffic. A member of the American Legion Post 119, Voiture 1415 of 40/8 and the FOP #140.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary (Stokich) Koonce; daughters Valerie Hopper and Diane Jackson both of Greenfield; seven grandchildren Barbara (Wil) Richardson, Chris Hooper, Heather (Marc) Huber, Holly Jackson, Hilaire (Ron) Chittum, Christine Jackson-Roberts, Joshua Jackson; 10 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and a sister Jo Alice Guyer Memphis, Tennessee.
Preceded in death by two brothers Herbert and Orville Koonce.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, March 22, 2010 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel Greenfield with Ryan McCarty officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield with full Military Graveside Rites provided by the Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:30 p.m.

Comments Mary, Valerie & Diane " Don was a special person and I am glad that our families grew up together. I have fond memories of our times together. I always enjoyed being around Don. He was good to me and I enjoyed knowing him. I happily called him a friend. He is missed.
