Donald L. Long, 87, passed away on December 16, 2023, in Pendleton, IN. Donald was born in Clay City, Indiana on November 10, 1936, to the late William G. and Cornelia C. (Willen) Long. He graduated from Clay City High School.
Donald Served in the United States Army and defended his country in the Korean War. He worked as a Repair Service Plant manager at Westinghouse, from where he retired in 1987. Donald belonged to the Riley Rangler's Square Dance Club and volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul where he helped in the food pantry. Along with his wife, Donald also made rosaries for St. Michael's Catholic Church. Donald was an avid Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers, and Indianapolis Indians fan.
Donald is survived by his wife, Margaret; daughters, Donna (Stephen) Butler, Marcia (Ed) Moore, Christine Williams, and Cheryl (Chris) Wood; sons, Tony (Carol) Held and Doug (Terri) Held; sister, Nora Loudermilk; nineteen grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded by his parents, his brothers Paul Long, Bill Long, Bob Long, and Charlie Long, sisters, Mary Long and Ruth Wolfe.
A service will be held on December 23, 2023, at 12:00pm, with a visitation from 9:00am, at Stillinger Family Funeral Homes, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana.
