Donita C. Willis

Donita "NiNi" C. Willis, 67 of Shirley passed away Monday January 8, 2024 at IU Health, Indianapolis following a brief illness.

She was born October 19, 1956 in New Castle, Ind. to the late Donald J. and Mildred (Newlan) Willis.

Donita graduated from Eastern Hancock High School in 1975 and is a Purdue graduate. She worked at Hancock Regional Hospital for several years and then IT contract work. Most recently she worked at Liberty Tax in Greenfield and drove the preschool bus for Eastern Hancock School. Her favorite job was baking and decorating cakes for over 45 years. She was a member of the Shirley Wilkinson Community United Methodist Church where she was instrumental in starting the Summer Meal Program. She enjoyed attending Eastern Hancock sports, watching Purdue basketball, playing Euchre, attending her Bunco Club, league bowling and camping.

Survivors include, brother, Ron (Betsy) Willis, sisters, Kristi Wolski, Karen Willis, Karla Willis all of Shirley, nephews, Ryan (Carey) Willis, Josh (Amy) Willis, Jared (Erin) Wolski, great nieces and nephews, Brooklyn Willis, Colten Willis, Adalyn Willis, Alivia Willis, Everly and Emmett Wolski.

She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and brother-in-law, Steve Wolski.

Visitation will be Sunday January 14, 2024 from 2 until 6 pm at the Shirley Wilkinson Community United Methodist Church, 309 South Street, Shirley Indiana, 47384. Funeral service will be Monday January 15, 2024, at 10:00 am at the church. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery, Wilkinson.
