Donna Lou Boese August 27, 1931 - March 10, 2010
Donna Lou Jefferis Boese, 78, died March 10, 2010 after a long battle with cancer, with her immediate family by her side in Greenfield, Indiana.
She was born August 27, 1931 in Union City, Indiana to Donald R. and Evelyn (Fourman) Jefferis and was the first girl born into the Jefferis family in two generations.
Her lifelong partner in marriage is Thomas R. Boese, having been married since 1953. Donna loved horses, ponies, swimming, playing both piano and organ, singing, was an avid bridge player and enjoyed traveling the country with Tom. She loved traveling with her friends to play golf. The daily crossword was a fixture every morning. Donna kept many pictures and the many photo albums around her home to reflect her love of friends and family, with each photo telling a story of her adventures. Donna never met a stranger and she welcomed people into her life with open arms and a warm heart.
Donna and Tom lived initially in Shirley, Indiana for several years, before moving to Wilkinson, Indiana, which became their permanent home. She was active in the familys love of Show Ponies.
Donna devoted much of her time raising her family and supporting her husband Tom. As the "nest" began to empty she became involved in the medical profession, working for Dr. Kuhn of Wilkinson and later for Dr. Hass of Greenfield.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers; Donald R., Jr., Charles M., Robert K. Jefferis and a son Thomas Jeffrey Boese.
Donna is survived by her husband of 57 years, Thomas (Tom) Boese, daughter in law Liz Magill, son Greg (wife Nancy Saul) daughter Suzanne (husband David Solomon) and four grandchildren, Gordon Boese, Thomas Boese, Samantha Solomon and Kaitlin Solomon.
At her request, no service will be held. Visitation will be at the familys home at 1439
Mimosa Court, Greenfield, IN. from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2010. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, Greenfield.
