Donna Jo (Hafner) Phillips

Donna Jo (Hafner) Phillips, 76, Greenfield, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, while at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, with family by her side. Donna was born on November 15, 1949, in Indianapolis, to parents Donald Lewis and Joan (Nichols) Hafner. She is a 1968 graduate of Arlington High School, Indianapolis.

Donna was a simple woman, but she loved BIG. She was a stay-at-home mother to her children throughout their lives. She loved music, sporting events that involved our Indianapolis Colts & Pacers, and most of all, the apples of her eyes, her grandchildren. She was a Job’s Daughter. She practiced Christianity, specifically of the Lutheran faith.

Donna is survived by her loving husband, John Michael Phillips; her daughters, Lori Brown, Carrie Devries-Hutchens (Doug Hutchens), and Christy Devries-Jones (Erick Jones); 8 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Melissa Joy Devries; and son-in-law, Michael Brown.

Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Greenfield, is of assistance to the family during their loss. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at Lizabuth Ann's Kitchen (adjacent to James Whitcomb Riley's home), 250 W.
