Dorvin F. Rihm, age 92 of Greenfield passed away Monday, December 19, 2016 at Franklin United Methodist Home, Franklin. He was born June 25, 1924 to the late Fred S. and Carrie M. (Ebbing) Rihm.
Dorvin served in the U.S. Army during WWII receiving the Purple Heart and Silver Star. He attended both Butler University, Rose Hulman University and enjoyed a long career with Eli Lilly retiring in 1985. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, American Legion Post 119, the Greenfield Elks Club and was active with the American Red Cross for many years.
He is survived by son, Daniel D. (Sheila) Rihm of Avon; daughter, Nancy A. (Gene) Leffler of Franklin; 3 grandchildren, Matt Bennett, Katie Day, Chris Rihm and 3 great grandchildren.
Dorvin is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Ruth D. Rihm whom he married May 30th, 1947.
A funeral mass will be held 10:00 am on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 513 North Jefferson Blvd., Greenfield, Indiana 46140 with Father Aaron Jenkins officiating. Private burial will be at Park Cemetery at a later date.
