Douglas Charles Cooper, beloved husband, brother and son, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at the age of 47. He grew up in Richmond, IN but most recently resided in Chattanooga, TN. Doug was a Purdue University alumnus with a degree in engineering. He spent the majority of his professional career in automotive manufacturing, serving most recently as Plant Manager at Yanfeng Chattanooga. Doug was an esteemed colleague and a dear friend to those he worked with.
Doug was a member of the Fraternal Order of MasonsFairfield Masonic Lodge #98, and huge sports fan. Doug loved watching his Boilermakers win, was a long-time season ticket holder for the Indianapolis Colts and a devoted Cincinnati Reds fan. His love of sports was only rivaled by his love of music, as Doug was often known to drop everything to see live music of almost any genre.
Doug is survived by his wife, Cassie McClellan-Cooper, parents Bennett (Diana) Cooper and Jana Denham, sister Amber (Jay) Wilson, grandmother Faye Hunter, step-grandmother Ruby Denham, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephew, his cherished pets Molly and Kimbo, and countless friends.
Friends may call 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 21, 2018 until the time of service at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140. Memorial service will be held at 3:30 pm at the funeral home.
