Doyle G Jester

Doyle G. Jester February 13, 1940 - March 14, 2009 Doyle G. Jester, 69, of Greenfield, in the presence of family and friends passed away at his residence Saturday evening, March 14, 2009. He was born February 13, 1940, in Tallahassee, FL to the late Grady and Orilla (Moore) Jester. Doyle attended Greenfield High School and served in the National Guard from 1957 to 1959 and in the U.S. Army until 1962. He retired after 33 years of service from Greenfield Fire Department and where he also served as Fire Chief. He worked 9 years for the maintenance department at Greenfield Central School Corporation and 8 years for the maintenance department at Wal-Mart. He is a member of the Greenfield F.O.P. #140, American Legion Post #119, American Fire Fighters Association and a former Elks Club member. He was a wonderful husband, father, enjoyed his grandchildren, woodworking, fishing, garage sales, and was an avid Tony Stewart fan. Doyle loved his dogs, Savannah, Freeway and grand-dog Hope. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Irene Grace (Sandefur) Jester of Greenfield, daughter, Tammy (Dan) Vangundy of Greenfield, son, John (Ronda) Jester of Greenfield; 3 sisters, Peggy (Chuck) Souders of Murfreesboro, TN, Estelle Moore of Greenfield, Jeane Orr of Hartsville, AL,6 grandchildren, Samantha, Joshua, Christa, Jordon, Mariah, Jenna, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Beatty. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday March 18, 2009 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield with John Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield. Friends may call Tuesday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
