E. Marlene Linkous

E. Marlene Linkous, 79, Greenfield, passed away Friday, March 12, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 28, 1941 in Montgomery County, Virginia, to Earl and Eirsel (Davis) Bland. She married Jerry Linkous on November 12, 1958. Marlene worked at Wolverine Gasket in Blacksburg, VA, for many years. She loved flower gardening as well as working in her yard. She also enjoyed playing BINGO and going to the casinos. Every morning she enjoyed filling the birdfeeders and watching the backyard critters. She was the glue that held her family together and enjoyed family time. Marlene is survived by her children: Denise Linkous (Chris Eberhardt), Darla Richards, and Regina Crowder; grandchildren: Tyler Costigan, Travis Richards, Josh Richards, Matthew Linkous, Justin Cox, and Stephen Cox; several great-grandchildren; siblings: Ronnie Bland, Marvin Bland, Raymond Bland, Ralph Bland, Jerry Bland, Marie Barbour, and Anna Gillespie; and beloved four-legged dog, Azalia. Marlene was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Linkous exactly 9 years ago; her parents; and sister, Pauline Johnson. The Linkous family would like to thank their 'special angel,' Marlene Haynes, for all of her love and support given to Marlene. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, IN. The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, also at the funeral home.
