Earl L. Roland March 22, 1919 - August 19, 2007
Earl L. Roland, 88, of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2007 at Methodist Hospital Indianapolis.
He was born March 22, 1919 in Hancock County, IN to the late Russell C. and Goldie (Zaph) Roland.
He was a 1938 graduate of Mount Comfort High School and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He later worked as an Eastern Hancock School Bus Driver for 27 years and retired as a farmer. He served as a deacon at the Shiloh Christian Church.
He is survived by wife, Florence (Gerber) Roland, whom he married August 3, 1940; son, Ronald (Nancy) Roland of Greenfield; daughter, Joyce M. (Bill) Kuhn of IA; sister, Marjorie Hale of Indianapolis; brothers, Charles Roland of Greenfield, George Roland of Greenfield; 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by brother, Robert Roland.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2007 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel. Burial will follow at Asbury Cemetery. With Military Funeral Rites by Greenfield American Legion Honor Guard Friends may call 4 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
