Elijah L. Mitchell

Elijah Lynal Mitchell, 21 of Indianapolis passed away on December 2, 2022 in Indianapolis. He was born to Deena Renee Stapp and Rodney Steve Mitchell, Jr. on September 13, 2001 in Indianapolis, IN. Elijah graduated from Irvington Preparatory Academy in 2020. He attended Indiana State University, until the pandemic. He was employed at Rent A Center. He played basketball, football and baseball at Christian Park growing up. He earned his letter in wrestling at Raymond Park middle school. He was on the Jr. Varsity basketball team at Irvington Preparatory Academy.

Known mostly for his larger than life personality. He always had the ability to make anyone laugh, and always said the unexpected. Elijah was loved by many.

He loved all things music. He played the viola. He loved going to concerts with friends where he could crowd serf and get into the mosh pit. Elijah loved anime and Japanese culture. His favorite TV show was "One Piece" and loved the character "Brook."

He was a loving father, son, grandson, brother, nephew and friend.

He is survived by his parents; his son, Princeton; 2 sisters, Adrianna Hayes and Dyamond Austin; uncle, Phillip Stapp; grandparents, Joann Stapp and Albert White, Dave (Nancy) Witham.

Elijah was preceded in death his brother, Rodney Mitchell, his great aunt, Carolyn Stapp; great grandparents, Clarence Stapp and Etheleen Stapp, Barbara Hearn; grandfather, Rodney Mitchell, Sr.

Elijah will be forever missed and live on in our hearts.

Services for Elijah will be Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 12:30PM at Stillinger Family Funeral Home-Hendryx Chapel 11636 E. Washington St. Indpls, IN 46229 with burial in New Palestine Cemetery. Friends may visit from 10:30AM until the time of service. Stillinger Family is honored to care for Elijah.
