Eugene "Pokey" Bruce Polk

Eugene (Gene) Bruce Polk, age 74, of Greenfield passed away December 18, 2021, at his home. He was born November 12, 1947, in Shirley, Indiana to the late Charles and Velma (Pritz) Polk. Gene to some, Pokey to others, was a godly man who loved God and his family. During his life, he enjoyed many things, from playing bass guitar in a band with his best friends to working in his garage doing body work on cars and building his one-of-a-kind things for his family. He loved his church and church family. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean (Babydoll) Hendren Polk of Greenfield, Indiana; Son, Eddy (Wendy) Polk of Greenfield, Indiana; Daughters: Susy (Ryan) Nickel of New Palestine, Indiana, Penny Polk of Greenfield, Indiana, and Samantha (Blake) Beauchat of Greenfield, Indiana; Grandchildren: Brandon (Samantha) Radford of New Castle, Indiana, Cody (Andi) Polk of Wilmington, North Carolina, Whitney Jefford of Greenfield, Indiana, Matthew Polk of Greenfield, Indiana, Zeke Jefford of New Palestine, Indiana, Layni, Addison, and Paisley Beauchat of Greenfield, Indiana; Great-grandchildren: Eva and Hudson Radford of New Castle, Indiana, and Kade Jefford of Greenfield, Indiana; and Brothers: Charles (Eddi) Calhoun of Arkansas and Robert (Roxane) Polk of Knightstown, Indiana. Preceded in death by parents, Charles and Velma Polk; granddaughter, Kelsey Jane Polk; mother and father in-law, Buck and Pat Hendren; and brother in-law, Jr. Tanner. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 1450 West Main Street, Greenfield, on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at 4:00 p.m., with one hour of visitation, prior to the service.
