Faye Lavonne Melton June 20, 1919 - November 4, 2013 Faye Lavonne Melton, 94, of Greenfield passed away Monday, November 4, 2013 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehab in Greenfield. She was born June 20, 1919 in Hancock County as the daughter of Lunis and Lisetta (Buchfink) Sanford. She was a 1938 graduate of Mt. Comfort High School, the last member of her class. She married William L. Melton on June 20, 1939, they were married 61 years prior to his passing. She worked a number of years at Indiana Rayon (Indiana Knitwear), 20 years at ASCS office and 10 years at Memorial Park Cemetery, Indianapolis before retiring. Faye was a long time member of Greenfield First Presbyterian Church and Greenfield Business and Professional Womens Club. She enjoyed genealogy, quilting and playing cards. She is survived by her sons; William F. Melton of Indianapolis, Wayne (Susi) Melton and daughter Margaret (Maggie) (Bob) Miller of Greenfield. Four grandchildren; Jesse (Angie), Jason (Andi) Melton, Brian (Sherri) Miller and Marla L. Wilson all of Greenfield. Seven great grandchildren; Brooke, Brittany, Delanie, Jaysa, Taylor, Alex and Braedon; one great-great grandson Lane and niece Joyce Crock. She was preceded in death by husband William L. Melton in 2000, parents and brother, John F. Sanford. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery. Rev. John Paulson will officiate. Friends may call from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home. The family of Faye would like to thank the entire staff and residents of Kindred for their care and compassion shown to Faye and our families. God bless all of you.
